The payday lending lobby doesn't want you to know the truth.

They don't want you to know they encourage multiple borrowing and prey on "single parent households with multiple children.''

And they certainly don't want you to know that the November ballot issue they are financing in Ohio is really designed to keep interest rates high. If the ballot issue succeeds, lenders will be able to charge 391% annual interest on a typical loan.

But that's not what they're telling the voters. When they ask people to sign referendum petitions needed to qualify for the ballot, some petition circulators are insisting that it's the lenders who want to lower interest rates.
